LoopCut

Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 4, 2026
LoopCut is a digital well-being app that helps you reduce unconscious phone scrolling and build more intentional phone habits. LoopCut is designed so sensitive phone-use information stays on your device whenever possible.

1. Who We Are

This Privacy Policy explains how LoopCut collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the LoopCut Android app and related services.

The data controller is Wei Zhang, Germany. You can contact us at u9486010837@gmail.com.

2. Short Summary

3. Data Stored on Your Device

LoopCut needs to process certain information locally so the app can protect you from unconscious app use. The following data stays on your device unless a specific consented or necessary operation requires transmission:

Local dataPurposeDefault sharing
Onboarding completed stateAvoid repeating setup unnecessarilyLocal by default
Permission statesShow setup status and keep protection workingLocal by default
Selected Guarded AppsKnow which apps should trigger LoopCut interventionsLocal by default
Guarded Apps countSupport local app behavior and coarse configuration summariesLocal by default

Activation countersRun local app behavior and avoid repeated setup promptsLocal by default
Sleep Guard schedule and configurationSchedule and manage bedtime protectionLocal by default
App language settingShow the app in your selected languageLocal by default
Local premium entitlement cacheKeep paid features available on the device after validationLocal by default

Uninstalling LoopCut normally deletes locally stored app data, although your Android version, device manufacturer, or backup settings may keep separate backups depending on your configuration.

4. Account and Sign-In Data

You can use LoopCut without signing in unless a specific Early Access, premium, or account-based feature requires sign-in.

If you sign in with Google, LoopCut may process:

Signing out disconnects your account from the app on that device. Signing out does not automatically delete your local app settings, and it is separate from your reliability-report and product-analytics choices.

5. Premium, Purchase, and Entitlement Data

If LoopCut offers paid or premium features, LoopCut may process purchase and entitlement data needed to provide those features, validate purchases, restore purchases, handle refunds, and comply with legal obligations.

Purchase and entitlement records are service-operation data. They are not Firebase product analytics events.

6. Reliability Reports

LoopCut may collect limited reliability data to find setup failures, crashes, and technical issues across Android versions and phone brands. Reliability reports help us keep LoopCut working on difficult Android devices.

This may include:

Reliability reports do not include app names, package names, websites, URLs, typed intentions, notification content, messages, browsing history, foreground app history, or personal content.

You can turn reliability reports on or off in Settings - Privacy & Data.

Turning reliability reports off stops future reliability-report uploads. It does not delete account, purchase, legal, security, or support records that LoopCut needs to keep for other purposes.

7. Optional Product Analytics

Product analytics is optional and based on your consent. If you choose to help improve LoopCut during setup or enable product analytics in Settings, LoopCut may collect limited product usage events to understand where users get stuck and which features are useful.

Product analytics may include:

Product analytics does not include app names, package names, websites, URLs, typed intentions, notification content, messages, browsing history, foreground app history, or personal content.

LoopCut does not send a custom anonymous user ID for product analytics. Firebase / Google Analytics for Firebase may use built-in pseudonymous identifiers, such as an app-instance identifier or user_pseudo_id.

Before Consent

Before you consent to product analytics, Firebase Analytics remains disabled. LoopCut does not send remote product analytics events before consent, and LoopCut does not keep a raw pre-consent product analytics event queue for later upload. The app may keep coarse local counters or snapshots only for local app behavior.

Withdrawal

You can withdraw product analytics consent at any time in Settings - Privacy & Data. Turning it off stops future product analytics collection and clears local analytics summaries. It does not delete product settings, account state, premium entitlement state, purchase or legal records, or necessary service-operation records.

8. Member Updates and Offers

If you choose to receive member updates or exclusive offers, LoopCut may use your email address to send Early Access updates, product news, tips, or offers. This is optional and based on your consent.

You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in the email or by contacting us.

9. Service-Operation Data

Some data is processed separately from Firebase product analytics because it is necessary for app, account, payment, security, support, or legal operation. This may include:

Service-operation data is not used as Firebase product analytics unless the same interaction is separately collected as a consented product analytics event.

10. Support and Diagnostic Reports

If you contact support or choose to send a diagnostic report, LoopCut may receive technical details that help investigate hard-to-reproduce problems. Diagnostic reports are user-initiated and should be reviewable before sending where the app provides that flow.

A diagnostic report may include:

By default, diagnostic reports are designed not to include app names, package names, typed intentions, notification content, screen text, websites, URLs, browsing history, or foreground app history. If you add screenshots, messages, or free-text descriptions to a support request, avoid including sensitive information unless it is necessary for support.

11. Data Not Sent for Analytics

12. Cloud Synchronization

Signing in with Google is used to unlock account-based, Early Access, or premium functionality where those features are available. LoopCut does not sync your guarded app list, app usage history, intervention history, typed intentions, or Sleep Guard schedule to our servers by default.

If LoopCut adds optional cloud synchronization in the future, LoopCut will explain what data is synced and provide a separate control before syncing private settings or history.

13. Permissions and Device Access

LoopCut may ask for Android permissions or device settings access so the app can provide the features you choose to use. The exact permission names and setup steps may vary by Android version and phone manufacturer.

LoopCut uses these permissions for the app's digital well-being functions, local reminders, local device checks, and reliable operation. Permission-related data is processed on your device by default unless this policy explains a specific consented or necessary transmission.

LoopCut does not use permissions to collect screen content, messages, passwords, notification content, browsing history, typed intentions, or personal content for analytics. You can change or disable Android permissions in your device settings.

14. Accessibility Service

LoopCut uses Android's Accessibility Service only for digital well-being and app-intervention features. It helps LoopCut apply the protection settings you choose in the app.

LoopCut does not use the Accessibility Service to read screen content, text, UI labels, messages, passwords, or typed input. LoopCut does not record or transmit what you do inside other apps.

You can disable the Accessibility Service at any time in Android Settings.

15. Third-Party Libraries and Services

LoopCut uses service providers only where needed for account operation, payments, reliability, support, or consented product analytics.

16. Legal Basis for Processing

17. Data Retention and Deletion

18. Your Choices

19. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, including if GDPR applies, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal data. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw your consent at any time.

Withdrawing product analytics consent affects future product analytics collection. It does not automatically delete legally required payment, tax, account, security, or service-operation records.

To exercise privacy rights, contact us at u9486010837@gmail.com.

20. International Processing

LoopCut may use service providers, including Google Firebase, Google Analytics for Firebase, Google BigQuery, and Google Play services, that process data in countries outside your country of residence. Where required, LoopCut relies on appropriate safeguards provided by those service providers, such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent transfer mechanisms.

21. Children's Privacy

LoopCut is not intended for children below the age required to consent to digital services in their country. LoopCut does not knowingly collect personal data from children without appropriate parental consent. If you believe a child has provided personal data to LoopCut, please contact us so we can delete it.

22. Changes to This Policy

If LoopCut updates this Privacy Policy, the new version will be posted with an updated date. LoopCut will notify users of significant changes through the app or another appropriate method.
